Eddie

Here’s my friend Eddie

Here’s my friend Eddie

I don’t know what I want to do today and I don’t know if I’m going back to school today or tomorrow.

I have lots of friends and family and I have a cute little dog and he has a cute little face. His back is so soft and cuddly. His name is Eddie and I love him so much. I love hime so much because he has a soft head and when he is wet his legs are skinny.

Whe he gets on my bed he is so happy and soft as a feather but he doesn’t have to lie on my bed. He has been to the beach with my Dad and my sister. They have always been there when it’s sunny.

Matariki is…..

Creamy black and white,
A cold winter,
A place under the starry sky,
The soft and gentle wind,
Warm clothes making you
Feel safe and soft,
Warm and fresh fruits.

Lily's Poems

Sandy, Sandy Seashores

Sandy sand tickles your toes,
The salty wind blows your hair around

Nice warm water to splash about in.
Juicy blackberries

Ride your boat out to sea
Then sail back in on some green salty waves.

Make sand castles yellow and gold
Make them reach the sky

Set up your tent
Camp the night in a starry sky

Gaze up at the moon as you drift into a deep sleep.

Morning is almost here
Time to play

Pack up your tent
We are going to have the last of our holidays somewhere else.

The Sky

The sky is as blue as pools of water
The clouds are like white pillows resting in the sky
The birds chitter and chatter in the calm blue sky
The kite flies high in the summer evening

Cotton candy clouds zoomed passed me as i jumped out of the jet hoping to hit the mountain, not fall hopelessly into the never ending sea. the mountain came into close view now, fluffy snow and cold hard ice. im happy now i didnt chose the glasier to parachute to.

Queenstown

My expectations are high
Wind blows from the south
Bring on the cold snowy days!

Skiing is my specialty
Going off the jump
Landing on the other side

Ben's Anzac Day Poem

Malcolm Gibbs, my Great Grandfather

Malcolm Kitchener Gibbs

Malcolm Kitchener Gibbs

Guns fire all around
People falling to the ground
My great grandfather firing away
Trying to avoid his doomsday

A machine gun he was firing
Work that was extremely tiring
Yet still he went on maintaining his ground
The war overtook and was soon all around

My great grandfather and his friend
Willing to defend
All the countries under German ruling
The ANZACS not giving up dueling

But all of a sudden his friend fell dead
My grandfather knew he’d be forever embed
But quickly moved on and called a retreat
He knew this was best to avoid defeat

But during this dangerous and cautious retreat
A bullet shot through, revealing blood-red meat
He crawled through the bush for days on end
Owing his life to his very good friend

Over the hill he glimpsed his final destination
With his last ounce of strength he pushed on for his nation
He rushed to the hospital with the help of a mate
Hoping death would not end up his fate

The hospital ordered him to be sent back
Bringing nothing but some stuff in a sack
For days he travelled on a big hospital ship
Enduring a long, laborious and terrifying trip

When he finally reached safe dry land
He was glad to be on soft silky sand
And meeting back with h is beautiful wife
Soon he was able to restart his life

Thank goodness for my great granddad
For without him this life, I would never have had.
